Engage Expo Presentation

Posted Monday, March 9th, 2009 by Ian

Wow, it is late (3am) and still so much work do to monetizing social apps, MMOs, and casual games.

In about 6 hours I’ll be giving a presentation at the Engage Expo in NY. My topic is the following:

Understanding Your Audience and Optimizing Revenue Streams

A key to increasing revenue potential is by understanding your audience and figuring out what payment and alternative payment methods fit to each unique experience. This session will help you uncover insights, like defining which goods or incentives to use, knowing where to place the call-to-action, understanding users in order to best direct payment and alternative payment methods, and how to optimize and continually test placements and payment providers against detailed user demographics - to know how and where offers are most effective and productive.

If you have any questions… shoot me an email at ian-at-sometrics-dot-com.

ad:tech New York

Posted Friday, November 21st, 2008 by Jennifer

November 3-6th

Divided into two days expo, two days conference, ad:tech New York was a week of sessions, swag and networking around digital marketing. Oh, and walking, lots of walking.

Overwhelming in attendance were affiliate marketers and ad networks, but a welcome highlight of many panels and conversations surrounded social media and measurement.  Coming at a time when concern is heightened on campaign performance and ad dollars are shifted or cut back, measurement and ROI are a necessary piece of the advertising pie.

The ability to stand out in the crowded ad network landscape was another hot topic. According to advertising execs, networks with features such as accurate targeting, ability to control content and transparency of publishers were big influencers come decision time.

What it comes down to is brand ad dollars are limited, especially in this state of our economy, so growing those dollars by finding the right companies to work with to help execute campaigns effectively is critical.
